fractured legs America
by Kathryn R. Rieber

Rubber rabbit tire screech as
road burn red ahead.

Rouge rider w/ white knuckle
buckle scorch blood.

Eff one fifty skid along desert corridor
drained & dry

streaked sloppy & yellow &
mirage like. Like corporations line up

like books nicely stacked on shelves bumped up
but w/ pages w/ notes shoved in the private parts

of wailing walls along that long road
as he shot blanks across the state line.

Dog ears of long lost wanderance
Pinned and tied to the page i left you on.

Plumes of our infrequent chatter glisten cling tight to
Marlboro smoke screens burn brutal overcast musk

smeared & crusted w/ dead flies &
mosquito moth carcass ruins

lain to rest in the pines, in the
ectoplasmic grave yards of infinity

Sinclair gas & nearby fracks perfume
the big bellied bustle of atmospheric density all around.

W/ fractured legs America,
the great golden expansive mind was

mined for eros & rubbled for ancient root
pricked tender vein for worth &

she? blood diamond sexted & decimated for quarry
dead over lovers quarrel. She left w/ severed head but w/ hands…

Rubber rabbit skewer the silver hazy roast,
curl hind legs up into

wisps of tendril comet tails
precipitated impressionistic

hex, I wrote spells
on the windows in sharpie

w/ the shine of life chiming
all thru salt flat night.

Up ahead there was a periwinkle day tight
roping its way across horizon line. Hitchhiker

indifferent & undefined as more hours & road went
w/ more clouds in the distance…

….just as the sun cross the sky, the chicken go running
as beat as red & purple & yellow lines in over passes of my mind

the passenger is amused by pig ears & cow tongues & buffalo bulwark walking
& wild turkey gaggles clucking & chicken squad squawk squeaking

more warm yellow miles dance ahead.
& for awhile the plains are panoramas of

lightening storms
sparking wide

& there is the Icon all centric & embrued.
Electrified & oiled up

& ready to write. Reads Proust out on the plane
brings more passengers along

Noah’s Ark of people: pimples, passengers, puff puff, puss
passing. As go the hours ooze smoke from his reds

just puff & pass
the passengers who took a look

who dare
not see anything at all.

Light, it is hot from the strikes
on the road & not

make any sudden move
ment away or toward

or to wherever; but watch
albedo’d sur faces melt &

reform as matter renewed.
Yr fingers bubble heat waves on the bark

of steering wheel, a leather record spins hypnotic.
Yr fingers scratch fuzz

Yr finger is fuzz on wheel,
yr fingers are peach fuzz on fractured legs,

America. Fuzz of fundamentalized militias
industrialized complexities

fuzz of defense budget bottom lines
while inflation & heart rate rise

Yr fuzz is held at half mass for the pity party
thrown by War Pigs brigade of

fuzz, hap hazard hatred spew like an ecological disaster due to
colonization. A wave of atrocity

w/ fractured legs, America
fuzz of one hundred demented Duracell energizer bunnies

made of monster machinery; Senseless tsunami,
impenetrable pay walls move

make their way across
the plain. War Pig

took a shit on history
& it came out shrapnel CNN reports. It came out

ethnic genocide.
Rubbled ruby crusted hemorrhoid,

War Pig hungry & hunts the critical
re imaginations & those they belong to

talking shit truffled w/ anti erasure raves & rituals
War Pig who tried to repress irrepressible histories,

anal retentive tendencies; The histories who hide in basements
of bohemia. Where the roast of adulterers of indigenous

indigo hedges burn. Where the rapists who
littered original rose gardens w/ invasive seed of invasion

who impregnated witches w/ guilt
jealousy & undigested bone.

Whose infected tooth rot jailed
behind rusted gum veneer.

Whose disembodied mouth glazed w/ bleach
reeks of wrought iron & transistor radio off-gassing well water.

Who’s victim martyr bloated proud boy bias & taste like sulfur
who pluck nail from door of prayer

& cannot say land before
land had a name.

Eerie is peninsula
when denial recedes on a clear night

where all is seen & all is spot. All that is forgotten in tide pools of
California coast

Glitter w/ cans & wrappers
of beguiled depraved germ.

Where the cow patty feces is a colonial thesis
who fingers me under tables at gas station dine ins outside of Utah’s Seston brim.

W/ fractured legs America, u eat fritos out of my pussy
while yr colleagues watch the gang bang from

their living room screens & crate & barrel couches
smoking vapes that taste like the Americana dreamsickle cell addiction.

W/ fractured legs, America fall on purple knee &
knelt to priest & ponzi scheme

place bets on pony boy young w/ fortunes gone &
fantasies as endless as god

w/ fractured legs, America
u sold it out & pumped it up w/ hormones & metals & conglomerations that are

made of one thing. W/ zero cerebellum the executive, malfunctions
due to lopsided lobotomy performed by Nazi doctors

on metal tables bolted to cell block floors
subsidized by the State.

They fractured yr legs, America
& syringed u w/ booty juice & War Pig saliva
